I'm getting impatient. I've got one week of work, then one week off, then off to school.
Oh yeah, I ended up going with Rochester Institute of Technology. The major is Biomedical Photography. I'm looking forward to it.

Even though I can't wait for work to end, the same time it's kinda cool. I can get away with pretty much anything because they're hurting for people and can't afford to lose me early. :evillaugh:

Anyone out there use Mac computers?

Made the switch to Mac in '03 in order to use Final Cut Pro, haven't looked back ;)

Well, i've used PC my entire life and am just now switching for school. I don't have the computer yet. It should be here in a few days. But I downloaded Safari for PC, and call me thick, but is there a drop down option for web addresses like in firefox?

Stupid questions aside, I'm really looking forward to trying out Aperture. I've had the software for a week and a half and it's killing me that I can't use it yet. :shakefist:

As a guy who doesn't know Mac, do you have any noob advice for me? My father made the switch a few weeks ago and said that the learning curve is quite steep, the mac world just assumes that the users know everything about the OS so there are too few tutorials, help sites, etc.

yeah - Mac people are often really full of themselves I found -- they really seem to stay in their own pride like a bunch of lions ---

Well that is one of my big trepidations. I'm afraid that all the little random programs and such will be much more lacking on Mac. Luckily I can still use Windows on Mac. :phew:

On another note, does that(Mac = smack - --) mean I can sell the computer by the ounce?

I learned on deployment in Afghanistan with no help, it wasn't that bad actually. As for web browsing, I've just downloaded Firefox for Mac, I like it a lot better than Safari, I also use Thunderbird for the email client. The first bit of advice to make your life easier is to make sure to get a two button mouse for it. After that, let me know if you have any specific questions, I can probably provide an answer pretty quick having gone through the switch after growing up on PC. The biggest hurdle for me actually was finding out how to get the combined file size of multiple files selected. In windows if you grab a bunch of files in explorer it'll automatically tell you the size of the group in the status bar. No such luck with Mac. After 3 years, I finally discovered that you must select the group of files and press "Command-ALT-I" at which point a box will open up with the combined file size and allow you to make a change to all files at once. Other than that, I've not come across any brainbusters.

After that, I never thought I'd see the day where I nod a good one at Gates. :p
